Apartments Kožná thirteen
Prague, a magical city that charms all those who develop a passion for it. A city which is like an open book that still offers so much to read, to dream about and to understand.
The best thing is to wander around and to observe everything, all the way up to the tops of the houses and towers, absorbing the whole picture, the crowding of the towers and the pointed spires.
Prague has an essential harmony and natural scenery that has made it the magical capital of Europe.
To sort out the infinite lodgings offered is a pleasant task, but at the same time, this can turn into a major undertaking.
Perhaps the key lies in making a choice that reflects the atmosphere and the intriguing fascination of a city that can astonish you in a way that no other capital can, whether you choose a hotel, an apartment, a bed and breakfast room or a hotel de charme.
Apartments Kožná thirteen offer the convenience of an apartment in Prague and high quality at competitive prices.
Apartments Kožná thirteen are the right address in the heart of Prague, right behind the Old Town Square. As our building is on a small street, the apartments are quieter than one could expect in such a central location. Our accommodation combines the elegancy of a historical building with the modern facilities, to reveal the hospitality of the authentic Czech atmosphere.
Description
From Apartments Kožná thirteen, exploring the city begins with stepping out on a small cobblestone street, which is a quiet passageway to the main touristic routes. Within a few steps, you will be surrounded by restaurants, shops, bars and exhibitions, all in beautiful antique buildings that are a spectacular view for all visitors. Just a stone’s throw away is the Old town Square with its famous Astronomical Clock, the beautiful church Our Lady before Tyn, and beginning of the main route to Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, known as the Royal Way.
The care paid to detail and the complete equipment of the apartments give the apartments a homely touch, which is specific for all our apartments, also thanks to careful and friendly family management. In the entire building there are only three apartments, one apartment on each floor. The limited number of apartments also helps guarantee you a peaceful stay.
All the apartments have fully-equipped kitchens, which makes them an ideal place also for medium and long-term stays.
The apartments have been restored with the aim of satisfying both the needs of short stay, as well as possible medium-length or long-term stay for work. The different layouts of the Kožná apartments satisfy requests by singles as well as large families.
The Kožná apartments were carefully decorated to create a delicate atmosphere that evokes the Czech traditional homes and at the same time to give the comfort of modern facilities and space. Our intention is to offer our guests the feeling that they are on an enjoyable vacation and, at the same time, make them feel at home in Prague.
Location
OLD TOWN The Old Town was first mentioned in 1091 and gained the privileges of a town in the 13th century. The heart of the Old Town has always been the Old Town Square, dominated the Church of Our Lady of Tyn and the Town Hall. The Old Town Square is surrounded by buildings with fantastic Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, including the beautiful Gothic Church Tyn. At the north part of the square you find the Hus Memorial in honour of 15th-century Jan Hus, the religious reformer who founded the Hussite sect. Beyond the square, you’ll find a labyrinth of narrow streets and squares with small Gothic and Romanesque churches spread around the entire Old Town.
Old Town Square is Prague's heart since the 10th century and its main market place until the beginning of the 20th century; the spacious Old Town Square has been the scene of the most important events in the history of Prague, may they be great or tragic. The Old Town Square is surrounded by beautiful pastel-coloured buildings in Romanesque and Gothic style with fascinating decorations. Today, the Old Town Square offers visitors the spectacular view of the Astronomical Clock, the churches of St Nicholas and Our Lady before Tyn, Jan Hus’ statue; also a large selection of restaurants, cafés, shops and galleries.
The Church of Our Lady before Tyn was the main Hussite church in Prague and it dominates the Old Town Square with its impressive spires. A beautiful entrance portal decorated with scenes of Christ's passion and a huge Rococo altar on the northern wall are some of its most interesting features. The interior was reconstructed in the Baroque style in late 17 century.
The Old Town Hall was established in the 14th century as a symbol of autonomy, after the agreement of King John of Luxemburg to set up a town council. Several old houses were incorporated over the centuries as the Old Town Hall expanded. A Gothic chapel and a neo-Gothic north wing were destroyed by the Nazis in the spring of 1945, but now the chapel has been reconstructed. The most famous part of the tower is the Town Hall Clock, dating from the 15th century. It consists of three parts – the procession of Apostles, the astronomical clock and the calendar, and the hourly procession of the 12 Apostles is its most spectacular feature.
